An invitation only, senior executive only, Battle of the Bands
The Community’s Got Talent (TCGT) is an invitation only, senior-executive only battle of the bands style fundraiser supporting the CIA Officers Memorial Foundation (CIAOMF) and the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF).
The 2013 iteration of TCGT was emceed by Ben Stein and included performances by eight of the national defense community’s most talented bands, “celebrity” judges including, Tish Long, Sean Joyce, Stephanie O’Sullivan and Michael Morell and featured a finale performance by former Brooks & Dunn front-man, Ronnie Dunn accompanied on guitar by Skunk Baxter.
The goals of TCGT are three fold:
- Raise scholarship funds for the surviving families of America’s shadow-warriors
- Enable IC, SOF, and government contracting personnel to showcase their musical abilities
- Provide a night of fun and nostalgia for the senior executives who carry the secret burdens inherent in protecting our country
Special Operations Warrior Foundation
1. College Scholarships for the surviving children of fallen Special Operations Forces
2. Family Services, including educational counseling
3. Wounded Special Operations Forces Support
CIA Officers Memorial Foundation
The Foundation was established in December 2001 to provide educational support to the children of CIA officers killed in the line of duty. In May 2006, the Foundation’s Board of Directors voted to expand its mission to include providing educational support to the spouses of CIA officers killed in the line of duty, and the children and spouses of officers who die on active duty as a result of accident, illness or other causes. The Foundation will consider providing other types of support based on specific circumstances and the availability of funds.
